Abstract

One of the most important parameters indicating the condition of ship hull and main power plant is propulsion shaft power.The power performance,economy and safety of naval ship can be improved by timely maintenance which is based on the shaft power and other parameters.This paper summarized the basic measurement methods for shaft power of naval ship and discussed its application in assessment of hull fouling and condition monitoring of main power plant.
