A Review of Different Biographies of Zhang Ailing

Abstract
The number of biographies of Zhang Ailing(Eileen Chang,1920-1995) has increased from two in 1992 to more than 50 today,justifying Zhang as an independent,many-sided and prolific writer.The different accounts of her first prose,A Genius' Dreams,made by these biographies,have shown the importance of historical data and biography-oriented literary criticism to the writing of a writer's biography.
