The verb yiwei generally formed in Warring States Period and developed in Han dynasty.Its source is the yi...wei.. structure in the early ancient Chinese.The process of formation is: Firstly,when yi acted as a verb and its meaning was believing.At the same time the action of the verb wei was lighter.yi....wei.... became yiwei....And then was the frequent conjunction of verb yi and verb wei;thirdly,under the role of the rhythm,yi and wei further integrated in semantic.And the syntactic structure was also relatively fixed.Thus,the verb yiwei gradually came into being.So the reasons of the formation of yiwei is that: Firstly, yi...wei... and yiwei...... is similar in the semantic type;secondly,it is the strengthened updating of yiwei.......
