Abstract

Objective To explore the value of MRI three-dimensional CISS sequence in diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia caused by vascular compression.Materials and Methods Thirty one patients with trigeminal neuralgia were analyzed retrospectively. The 3D-CISS MR images were compared with the surgical results. Results Preoperative MR 3D-CISS images showed 29 cases(29/31) of trigeminal nerve compression with the positive rate of 93.5%.3D-CISS images had high coincidence with surgical findings. Conclusion 3D-CISS images can clearly show the trigeminal nerve and the vessel compression, which is important for diagnosis and treatment.MR 3D-CISS sequence is an ideal preoperative examination for trigeminal neuralgia caused by vascular compression.
