The arrangement models of organic-pillar structure in the interlayer of organic pillared hydrobiotite

Abstract

Hydrobiotite,a vermiculite-phlogopite interstratified mineral,is intercalated by octadecyltrimethylammonium bromide(C_(18)TAB);the complexes were tested by X-ray diffraction(XRD).In order to investigate the evolvement of arrangement models of organic ion group in vermiculite interlayer and phlogopite interlayer of hydrobiotite,the quantity of C_(18)TAB was increased step by step.The results showed there are two arrangement models,paraffintype monolayer(PM) and paraffin-type bilayer(PB),in different concentration,as the organic stow density of vermiculite interlayer increased;and that in phlogopite interlayer there is only one arrangement model,paraffin-type bilayer;the evolvement of space arrangement models is as follows:PM in vermiculite interlayerPB in vermiculite interlayerPB in vermiculite and phlogopite interlayer;at last in the two interlayers of hydrobiotite C_(18)TAB has the same arrangement model.
