Abstract
Since the pipeline is the artery of national economy,so its corrosion and protection are widely paid attention to.In this paper,the important meaning of corrosion research was presented from two angles of economy and security;corrosion types,corrosion mechanism and calculation method of corrosion velocity of oil pipelines in oil and gas industry were also discussed.Some methods to prevent and control inside and outside corrosion were introduced.
