Abstract
The esterification reaction between glutaric acid and methanol with ptoluene sulphonic acid as catalyst was studied. The optimum reaction conditions in 94.5% yield were as following:the molar ratio of alcohol to acid is 10:1,amount of catalyst used 20% by weight of the glutaric acid, the reaction time is 3h under refluxing using cyclohexane as azeotropic solvent.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
