The highest state of Chinese culture is reached by Tang poems and Song verse.In rational culture,sentiment and principle are incompatible.The former degenerates easily into instinct and in counter-rational impulsion,while latter often dissimilates into a kind of Abstract category and grey mode that have nothing to do with perceptual life.In culture,the sentiment is essentially a sort of poetic principle is a kind of poetic rationality.Chinese cultural psychology with wisdom as parent substance will not move toward highly Abstract western logic system,and neither will it easily head for western non-rational desire revelry.That is where lies most important modern value of Chinese culture.Between perception and rationality,there exists not only western dual opposition,but also another more profound Chinese-style harmonious relationship.It is just the single opinion of Western nations that advocacy of rationality entails constraint of perception,and that liberation of perception must take road of non-rational.Maintaining benefit and security of culture is a dignified pledge we must make to human culture,as well as an ethical responsibility we should undertake for Chinese nation,.
