Pragmatic Analysis of Family Conversation

This paper firstly gives a brief introduction of Grice's theory of cooperative principle(CP)and conversational implicature and then on the basis of corpora of family conversation elaborates on conversational meaning resulting from violating or flouting quality maxim,quantity maxim,manner maxim and relation maxim,in an attempt to justify that conversational princiole is universally applicable in Chinese language community.
