Potato tubers avoid unfavorable growth conditions by dormancy,therefore ensuring their reproductions.Potato tuber size and its dormancy strength influence its commercial value and utilization time.Dormancy breaking during the storage can lead to water loss and nutrition depletion,or even lose its utility value.With the need of the production development,researches about potato tuber dormancy are being carried out.Understanding the dormancy mechanism and choosing proper method for dormancy breaking are of great significance for the cultivation and storage of potatoes.
