Abstract
This paper uses data envelopment analysis(DEA) to regional statistics,we decompose the China’s economic growth during the period 1978—2009 into components attribute to physical capital accumulation, efficiency improvement, technological progress and human capital accumulation.Based on it,we compare and analyze the sources of economic growth of China’ s provinces and the three regions. The result shows that: during the period 1978—2009,physical capital accumulation is the main driving force of economic growth of China’s provinces and the three regions, its contribution to economic growth is far higher than the other three;Technological progress is the second largest source of China’s economic growth, but the three regions have different characteristics; The coefficient of variation shows that physical capital accumulation is the main reason for differences of regional economic growth, followed by efficiency improvements.
