Study of Regional Spatial Structure of Town System in Jilin Province

Based on the analysis of the status of regional spatial structure of the town system in Jilin Province,the authors calculated the aggregation dimension,grid dimension and correlation dimension which revealed the spatial structure character of town system in Jilin Province with the fractal theory and method.Three aspects of the features for town system spatial structure in Jilin Province were studied,proving that the regional spatial structure in this region had fractal characteristics.Firstly,the distribution of some towns system around Changchun was concentrative.The fractal dimension calculations indicated that the town system showed the evolution of self-organization around Changchun City center.Secondly,in the spatial distribution system of Jilin Cities was more dispersed and less space correlation based on the study for 28 cities in Jilin Province.The character of general equilibrium for the towns in state of the general based on the study for 50 cities in Jilin Province.At present,great attention should be paid on development of some important market towns that may lead to harmony development in the whole area.
