Abstract
According to meteorological data from 1961 to 2011,used similar year comparative analysis method and statistical analysis, analysed characteristics of the autumn and winter drought of Zhoukou city over the past 50 years. It was suggested that over the past 50 years, similar disasters occurred 10 times, which happened once 5 years in average. There were some characteristics of drought, such as high frequency,long-lasting,large scale, wide range, strong hazard, widely influencing. In addition to atmospheric circulation anomaly was the direct cause of the formation of drought, chimate warming drying was caused the frequent occurance of drought, the winter drought in the West Pacific subtropical high decadal changes also had relationship.
