Abstract
Based on the concepts of animal welfare and organic animal husbandry,this paper expounds the inherent relation between the two,their development status,significance for practice and the importance in China.Finally,it discusses the role of animal welfare and organic animal husbandry in promoting the sustainable development of animal husbandry in China.It is therefore concluded that welfare raising is a basic requirement for organic animal husbandry,and that developing welfare raising and organic animal husbandry will solve the problems of environmental pollution,quality and safety of products confronting animal husbandry in China.
