Abstract
A novel mixed solid - liquid casting was utilized to prepare Al - 30Si alloy. The results show that, the as - prepared Al - 30Si alloy is characteristic of finer microstructures and higher mechanical properties than conventional casting and semi - solid casting technologies, which can successfully resolve the problem that Al - 30Si alloy prepared by conventional casting is difficult for hot processing. When mass ratio of the alloy powder to the melt is up to 1, the mean size of primary Si in the alloy can be controlled under 30 μm and its mechanical properties at room temperature is σb = 129 MPa, σ0.2 = 112 MPa, δ = 1. 4%.
