Abstract

Objective To analyze the expression levels of CD28 on the CD8 + lymphocytes from patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).Methods The percentage of CD28 +,CD8 +CD28 - and CD8 +CD28 + were determined by flow cytometry on peripheral blood lymphocytes from 16 patients with relapsing MS and 20 controls. Results Compared to control group, the percentage of CD8 +CD28 - lymphocytes in relapses MS group decreased, the percentage of CD28 + and CD8 +CD28 + did not significantly change. Methylprednisolone treatment did not cause any significant changes of CD28 +,CD8 +CD28 - and CD8 +CD28 +. Conclusion The CD8 cell involved in MS pathogenesis were CD8 +CD28 - cell.
