Animal Husbandry Development in Hilly and Gully Region in North Shaanxi Province

The hilly and gully region in North Shaanxi province is the place where water and soil loss most often take place.It is also the main region of national comprehensive control for the Loess Plateau.Due to the demand for ecological construction,the animal husbandry focused around grazing there is facing challenge.Based on the investigation on present condition and problems of animal husbandry in this area,the article analyzed the influence of foodstuff production on the animal husbandry and proposed the general approach for developing the poultries in this area,which suggested barn feeding goats be the majority and develop different species of livestock and poultry which is suitable for barn feeding,thus promoting the sustainable development of animal husbandry in North Shaanxi aimed at ecologic construction and economic development.
