Abstract
RUAN JI is a prominent ideologist and poet in the Six Dynasties.He was born at a wrong time and had talent but no opportunity to use it.He was apparently unruly and presumptuous,but actually painful and scared in his mind when he experienced cruel political persecution and destroyed family.RUAN JI's irreconcilable conflicts all his life which involves the conflicts between his ideologies and his activities,between his Confucianism thoughts and his Taoism thoughts,between his presumption and his carefulness.
