The promotion of distance education model integration by streaming media technology

The rapid development of multimedia and network technology has given birth to streaming media,which is a new type of medium.And the birth of streaming media has completely changed the limitation of the traditional internet which can only present characters and pictures.It will possibly become a main stream of the internet application in the future due to its perfect functions equipped with not only audio and visual frequency but also with picture and word effects.Obviously,the birth and development of streaming media technology will have an important effect on distance education.This paper briefly explains the basic theory of streaming media technology,and three most popular video formats based on technology,also elaborated on its peculiarity of teaching and its applications in the distance education.
