Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of treatment manner of gallbladder carcinoma on survival time. Methods The clinic data of 69 patients with gallbladder carcinoma admitted from January 2000 to January 2008 in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively to reveal the relationship among the stage of carcinoma, surgical modes and survival time factors. Results In the 69 cases,29 were males and 40 were females, with an average age of 62 years.Patients in early stage(Nevin's Stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ) have 15 cases, and patients in advanced and late stages(Nevin's Stage Ⅲ-Ⅴ) have 54 cases. In this study,12 cases underwent simple cholecystectomy,23 patients underwent radical resection.9 patients underwent extended radical resection, and the last 25 patients received other palliative treatment.Postoperative follow-up was obtained in 50 cases, the 1,3,5-year survival rates were 44.0%,22.0%,4.0%.And the 1,3,5-year survival rates were significantly higher in early stage than those in advanced and late stages(90.9%,70.7%,18.2% vs 30.8%,10.3%,0).Patients with advanced gallbladder carcinoma underwent radical resection had higher 1,3,5-year survival rates than those underwent palliative treatment(47.8%,17.4%,0 vs 6.3%,0,0).Conclusion The cruxes to improve the curative effect of gallbladder cancer were early diagnosis and treatment.Radical or extended radical resection can improve the outcome of gallbladder carcinoma patients when the procedures were properly selected.
