Abstract
Based on the monthly precipitation data since 1956,this paper analyzed spatial-temporal distribution characteristics of precipitation in Suzhou in later half past century by the meteorological statistical method and GIS.Through the precipitation's anomaly percentage(R) curve, both flood season and yearly precipitation characteristics in the past 51 year were analyzed in the study area. The results show that the precipitation distribution is basically normal.Otherwise, according to the contours of annual average precipitation from 1956 to 2006 and accumulated precipitation difference of urban and suburb in the past 20 years, the spatial difference was studied.
