Abstract
The ultrastructural change of pulmonary tissue of idiopathic pulmonary hemosidersis in adults was observed by using transmission electron microscopy.TypeⅡ alveolar epithelial cell and alveolar macrophage appeared hyperplastic.A number of alveola macrophages, erythrocytes and plasma proteins were found in the cavities of the alveolar. The osmiophilic lamellar bodies in hyperplastic typeⅡ alveolar epithelial cells were almost evaculated. The collagen fibres in alveolar septum were also hyperplastic. It is suggested that electron microscopic examination is helpful in pathological diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary hemosidersis.
