The Consumption of Firewood and Charcoal and Daily Life in Tang Dynasty

In Tang dynasty firewood was still the fuel which was most commonly used in people’s daily life.And charcoal was mainly used by the high level of the society.Be influenced by population,climate,war and tax,the value of firewood and charcoal always stayed at a high level,so that the firewood cutting had developed a lot.With the increasing of population and demand of cooking and heating,the amount of the demand of firewood and charcoal was greatly increased.The market of firewood and charcoal in Tang dynasty became prosperous.Because of the rich resource of forest,the supply of firewood and charcoal was in a good condition generally except for some areas which fuel was poor.
