Abstract
This article presents a survey of the literature on developmental dyslexia.It first tracks the origin of developmental dyslexic research studies in alphabetic languages.Then,it examines some key concepts in developmental dyslexia studies.Also explored are the deficit theories of developmental dyslexia.The survey concludes with a brief history of Chinese dyslexic research studies,its achievements and potential problems.
