Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a land classification system for national land use and land cover database building and macro land resources dynamic monitoring. Methods of documentation, comparative analysis and computer experiment were employed. On the basis of the spectral response of medium resolution satellite sensors(TM,CBERS-1 and SPOT) and the acquirement techniques of land use and land cover information,a land use and land cover classification system based on medium resolution remote sensing data was built. The interpretation characters of every catalogue were also demonstrated. The system can satisfy national remote sensing classification applications.
