Abstract
The main bridge of Zhangjiang River Bridge in Ganzhou is designed as a 3-span irregular shape arch bridge of flying bird type with a main span 158 m.The arch ribs of the bridge are composed of a central main rib and two side stability ribs. The structure of the bridge is novel, the designed configuration looks like a crescent rising in the sky and the structure is aesthetic in curves as well. The main span of the main girder is of a steel box girder while that of the side spans is of concrete box girder. In this paper, the structural design of the bridge is mainly dealt with.
