Research of the Higher Vocational College Students' Self-esteem and the Related Factors

Objective To learn the self-esteem state of the higher vocational college students,and to provide the references for improving their mental health.Method 289 higher vocational college students were tested by SES.Results 63.3% of the higher vocational college students have high self-esteem,and 36.7% of the higher vocational college students have low self-esteem.In self-esteem,the differences in sex,origin of the students,type of the family,specialty and grade are not statistically significant(P0.05).The differences in bgeing the only child or not and being in love or not are statistically significant(P0.05).Only child in the family scored obviously higher than non-only child.Students in love scored significantly higher than those not in love.Conclusion Low self-esteem of students in higher vocational colleges is higher;self-esteem of the higher vocational college students is influenced by if being only child if being in love.
