A Psycho-history Study of Cai Yuan-pei's Reform on Peking University

This paper introduces the Psycho-history theories and methods into the history of Chinese education.Through an analysis of Cai's motivation and behaviors in his reform on Peking University,it intends to widen the study scope of the history of Chinese education.Many of Cai's viewpoints,such as fostering scholars,developing new academic atmosphere,establishing a democratic and systematic college institutions,and so on,have still benefited the contemporary reforms and development of higher education in China.So it can also provide some inspiration for Chinese education and educators.
