Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Moxifloxacin in treatment of elderly patients with acute pneumonia.Methods:66 patients were randomly divided into 2 groups,33 patients were treated with Moxifloxacin(treatment group) and 33 patients were treated with Levofloxacin(control group). Results:The effective rate, bacterial clearing rate and occurrence of the adverse reaction for treatment group were 90.91%,93.94%,9.09% respectively and for control group were 78.79%,81.82%,12.12% respectively, the effective rate, bacterial clearing rate of two groups were compared, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05),while the adverse reaction of two groups were compared, the difference was not significant(P0.05).Conclusion:Moxifloxacin is a safe and effective medicine for treating elderly patients with acute pneumonia.
