Abstract

Objective To discuss the treatment and the clinical efficacy of elderly patients who plagued by varicose veins. Methods The clinical data of 133cases(elderly patients)with varicose veins, which drawn from March 2012 to March 2014 of the Second Hospital of Nanping, were analyzed retrospectively. In the treatment group,68 cases with various veins were treated by endovenous laser treatment.Sixty-five cases in the control group were treated by traditional surgical treatment. The curative effect of the two groups was compared. Results The surgery duration, duration of hospitalization and the amount of intraoperative bleeding in the treatment group were all significantly lower than those in the control group. The effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 97.1% and 81.5% respectively, which had statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion The high ligation and endovenous laser procedure for varicose veins has proved to be more effective for low patient injury, rapid recovery and less acne scar, which is superior to the traditional surgical treatment and suitable for elderly patients with varicose veins.
