Abstract
X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis method was applied to investigate the swellability of bentonite modified by molecular deposition filming flooding agent(MDFFA) then re-modified by dodecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(DTAB) or hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB) and modified by CTAB then re-modified by MDFFA or tetramethyl ammonium bromide(TMAB).The results show that MDFFA is adsorbed on bentonite interlayer by ion exchange with the arrangement model of lateral-monolayer and make layer spacing decreased,MDFFA can't easily be replaced by DTAB and CTAB.MDFFA and TMAB make layer spacing of bentonite which have been modified by low concentration CTAB decreased.MDFFA has better anti-swelling effect on bentonite than TMAB.
