Abstract

The present situations of research and prospect of application of biodegradation of chlorinated aromatic compounds are reviewed. The relationship between chemical structure of chlorinated aromatic compound and biodegradation are analyzed. The mechanism of microbe degradation includes oxidation dechlorination, reduction dechlorination and co-metabolism, and also the necessary environment conditions. Some personal views on how to improve the biodegradation reaction of chlorinated aromatic compounds are mentioned.
