Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical value of Acitretin for the treatment of psoriasis. Methods 80 cases of psoriasis patients admitted to Hanbin district hospital of traditional Chinese medicine of Ankang City in Shaanxi Province from October 2010 to October 2012 were randomly divided into two groups: 40 cases of control group were given narrow-band ultraviolet B(NB-UVB) irradiation treatment, and 40 cases of treatment group were also given Acitretin. The clinical efficacy, psoriasis area and severity index(PASI),dermatology life quality index(DLQI),and changes of interleukin-17(IL-17),interleukin-22(IL-22),interleukin-23(IL-23) level in two groups were observed and compared. Results The total efficiency rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P 0.05); the levels of PASI and DLQI in the treatment group after treatment were significantly lower than the control group(P 0.05);the levels of IL-17,IL-22 and IL-23 in the treatment group after treatment were significantly lower than the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion The clinical application of Acitretin for the treatment of psoriasis can significantly relieve the skin lesions, regulate inflammatory factor levels, and improve the patient's quality of life.
