Abstract
Objective To evaluate the influence factors and interfere ways of nasopharyngeal carcinoma occurred distant metastasis within 2 years after completion of the radiation treatment. Methods Statisticses January 2000 to December 2001, 303 nasopharyngeal carcinoma cases treated by radiotherapy (the Ⅲ、Ⅳa stage patients plus chemotherapy),28 cases occurred distant metastasis within 2 years, analyze its influence factor and the effect of chemotherapy. Results The distant metastasis there are significance difference among N stage. But no significance difference between the Ⅲ,Ⅲ_a stage patients plus chemotherapy and the Ⅰ,Ⅱ stage patients with radiotherapy only (P 0.05).Conclusion Chemotherapy adjunctive to radiotherapy is benefit to locally advanced patients, could reduce the rate of distant metastasis.
