Abstract
In this paper, Tearing strength of the twelve kinds of Coated fabrics with different specifications were measured by using four different tearing methods. The relationships among tearing strength tested by different tearing methods were obtained. Moreover, the influences of coating processing on tearing strength and tearing failure mechanism were studied, and a mechanical model expressing trapezoid tear strength of coated fabrics is also proposed. The experimental results showed that the mechanical model could be used to predict trapezoid tear strength of coated fabrics with certain precision.
