Abstract

Republic by Plato and De Republica de Legibus by Cicero elaborate their ideal country modes, but Cicero inherited from the ancient Greek theory and discussed it combined with the advantages of the environment in early Roman republic, so his republic is the restoration. Though Cicero elaborated his political ideas by conversation which is similar to the way of Plato, there are differences in essence. By comparing and analyzing the theories of Plato and Cicero, the paper finds the differences.
