Abstract
Under continuous stirring and water removal in a batch reactor, the esterification of acetic acid and n-butanol with composite sulfate (Fe2(SO4) 3-K2SO4) as catalyst was studied. The influences of catalyst dosage, reactant ratio and reaction time on reaction results were also investigated by the orthogonal test method. The results demonstrated that the optimized condition were as follows: the amount of acetic acid was fixed as 0.10mol,the catalyst dosage was 1.50g,the molar ratio of n-butanol to acetic acid was 1.8∶1,the reaction time was 2h,and the esterfication ratio of n-butyl acetate achieved 98.4%.In addition, the composite inorganic salts catalyst had the advantages such as convenient preparation, excellent catalytic activity, less pollution, and so on.
