Abstract

Objective To study the effect of blood pressure during servicemen’s encamping and training short-term on the plateau, and the strategy to prevent hypertension. Methods The subjects included the officers and soldiers who encamped and trained short-term on the plateau in three years. The blood pressure before entering the plateau, stationed in the plateau and two months after they returned the plain were measured respectively. They were divided into three groups by age. Results (1)The prevalence of hypertension increased obviously when they were stationed in the plateau and after they returned the plain. The prevalence of hypertension in the middle-aged were elevated, especially in those who had being smoking or suffering from dyslipidemia.(2)After returned the plain for two months, blood pressures in the young mostly normalized. The middle-aged usually remain hypertensive. Conclusions The plateau circumstances where oxygen is deficient, the hobby of smoking, dyslipidemia, stress are possibly the chief factors in contributing to blood pressure increment. The knowledge about plateau, strengthening the train of enduring deficient oxygen, giving up smoking, screening their health check, are important for the people who prepare to fast enter the plateau.
