Study on Xunzi's Theory of the Relationship between Heaven and Human

Abstract

Li(礼) is fundamental in Xunzi's philosophy,Xunzi maintains the combination of heaven and human in the sense of onto-cosmology based on Li,and the foundation of Li also can be explained from it.From analysing the history of philosophy from Han to Song,we can find the inner logic of this idea.At the same time,there is a theory of the separation of heaven and human in Xunzi's philosophy in the sense of fate.In this paper I'll express these two aspects of Xunzi's theory of the relationship between heaven and human.
