Abstract
The 3500 organic vapour monitor was used as a new device to collect air samples containing benzene,toluene and o-xylene.Gas chromatography was applied to the determination of these 3 compounds.Capillary chromatographic column(HP-1 19091Z-413,30 m×0.32 mm,(0.25 μm)) was used and other chromatographic parameters were given in detail.Good linearity between the concentration of the 3 compounds and their peak areas were obtained.Detection limits(S/N=3) were found to be 0.30,0.14 and 0.85 ng for benzene,toluene and o-xylene respectively.RSD′s(n=11) of the analytical results of the 3 compounds were 0.40%(for benzene),0.52%(for toluene) and 0.63%(for o-xylene),and recoveries were in the range of 90.8% to 99.7%.
