Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of different ways of nutrition support treatment on severe acute pancreatitis, and to assess the best way to evaluate nutrition. Methods The clinical data of 30 patients with severe acute pancreatitis from August 2008 to January 2013 in Xiqing hospital of Tianjin were retrospetively analyzed.Patients were randomly divided into two groups: Early enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition treatment(PN+EN)group, total parenteral nutrition treatment(TPN)group, and 15 cases in each group. The blood and urine amylase, white blood cell and neutrophil, the incidence of complications, the recovery of bowel function and hospitalization time after treatment were compared between the two gruops. Results Compared with the TPN group, blood and urine amylase, white blood cell and neutrophil of PN+EN gruop was decreased, and the complication rate was lower, intestinal function rapidly recovered, shorter hospitalization time, less natural course of patients and reduced the cost of hospitalization. Conclusion Nutritional support therapy has an important clinical significance in patients with severe acute pancreatitis, especially the early enteral nutrition combined with parenteral nutrition,it can significantly shorten the natural course of patients, reduce complications, and the curative effect is much better than TPN.
