Abstract

Objective To understand the distribution of common pathogens in the secretion of chronic suppurative otitis media(CSOM)and their status of drug resistance. Methods Secretions of 74 samples with chronic suppurative otitis media were collected and cultured for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria respectively.drug sensitivity test of isolated bacteria was done. Results 74 purulent specimens from patients with chronic suppurative otitis media were detected for anaerobes and aerobes,Bacteria were found in 53 of 74 specimens(71.6%).the detective rates of anaerobes and aerobes were 37.7% and 20.8%,respectively.the total positive rate of anaerobes and aerobes was 41.5%.of anaerobes gram-positive bacteria were frequentl 51.2%.and the other in an order from high to low were bacteroides.pseudo-monas aeruginosa were predominenfourd 27.3%.In the drug-sensitive tests,it was shown that metronidazole was the most sensitive, clindamucin and chloramphenicol was more sensitive. Conclusion Chronic suppurative otitis media is a disease of mixed infection which is induced by varied bacteria, including aerobic and anaerobicones, main infectious bacteria for anaerobic infection is assimilation streptococcus, and metronidazole and chloramphenicol might be the preferred antibiotics to cure the CSOM.
