Abstract

In order to understand effect of different tillage layer structures on growth and yield of maize, the experiment was conducted since 1983 in gongzhuling including plow tillage,no-tillage,spacing tillage and conventional tillage. The seeding rate, plant height, stem diameter, root and yield of maize were measured in this study. The results showed that spacing tillage improved seeding rate(13.4%),increased the leaf area, and enhanced the growth of stem. Moreover, the maize under spacing tillage have amounts of roots, the roots of maize under spacing tillage were more than other tillage(plow tillage,no-tillage and conventional tillage.).Therefore,the yield of spacing tillage was higher than others,we included that spacing tillage was the optimal tillage system in black soil zone of Jilin province.
