The Comprehensive Evaluation of Logistics Developing Environment in Jiangsu Province-Based on the Principal Component Analysis

The logistics developing environment is the foundation of a country or city's economy.The analysis and evaluation of the regional logistics developing environment is conducive to a correct understanding of the regional logistics' development in its own pros and cons,and then to create a good environment for the further logistics' development in order to lay a solid foundation promoting economic development.So,the paper establishes the index system that evaluates the logistics developing environment,and applies the principal component analysis to comprehensively evaluate the logistics developing environment in Jiangsu main cities based on the data of Jiangsu statistical yearbook(2010).The results show that the logistics developing environment's rankings of the 13 main cities in Jiangsu province are: Suzhou,Wuxi,Nanjing,Nantong,Yancheng,Xuzhou,Changzhou,Yangzhou,Taizhou,Zhenjiang,Lianyungang,Huaian and Suqian,then,the 13 main cities have their own characteristics of logistics developing environment.The results also show that three levels(Southern Jiangsu,Middle Jiangsu and Northern Jiangsu)of regional differences exist in these cities' logistics developing environment.
