Abstract
To study the function of poly (ADP ribose) polymerase in the apoptosis of glioma TJ905 caused by DNA damage, the cells were treated either by N methyl N′ nitro N nitrosogunidine (MNNG), or benzamide (BA), a special inhibitor of PARP, or the mixture of them. The results showed that under the induction of MNNG, the proliferation of TJ905 was inhibited definitely and TJ905 had definite apoptosis reaction. When treated by benzamide alone, TJ905's proliferation and apoptosis resembled the control. Nor did the mixture of BA and MNNG influence the proliferation and the apoptosis of TJ905. The results suggest that PARP plays an important role in inducing TJ905's apoptosis.
