Clinical manifestations of 14 children with fulminant myocarditis

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and therapy of fulminant myocarditis in children.Method 14 cases of fulminant myocarditis in our hospital were investigated retrospectively from January 2008 to December 2010.Results Among all the 14 cases,10 recovered,2 were improved and 2 patients died.Conclusion Early diagnosis and treatment in fulminant myocarditis are important.Corticosteroid and intravenous immunoglobulin should be used at the very beginning of the disease.If MODS happens,the protection of other organs is also very vital.
