Abstract
The formation of literary thoughts was brought about by the introduction of the literary thoughts of Europe.Kuriyagawa was the first one who carried on a systematic study of the history of European literary thoughts,and advanced his own view of literary thoughts.His studies were taken as a model by the later and Chinese researchers.Enlightened by Kuriyagawa,Lu Xun wrote his On the Poetic Power of the Satanical School when he studied in Japan,Lu Xun's work marked the beginning of Chinese studies on European literary thoughts.Before and after the period of the May 4th Movement,Kang You-wei,Chen Du-xiu,Xu Bei-hong as well as the Literary Society all learned from Japan.The Chinese studies on literary thoughts followed the footsteps of Japan.It is the so-called Japanese Bridge that introduced into China the Western literary thoughts.
