Abstract
Objective:To investigate single nucleotide polymorphism of interferon regulation factor 5 (IRF5) rs2004640 and its relationship with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) susceptibility in a population from Shandong province.Method:The polymorphism (rs2004640G/T) was detected with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) in 92 cases of SLE and 88 healthy controls. The genotype and allele frequencies were calculated and analyzed.Result:①The genotype frequencies of GG,GT and TT of rs2004640 in SLE were 0.198,0.521 and 0.281 respectively, which had a significant difference compared with those of controls (χ2= 8.73,P0.05).②The allele frequencies of T and G of rs2004640 in SLE were 0.402 and 0.598 respectively, which had a significant difference compared with those of controls (χ2= 7.41,P0.01).Conclusion:The polymorphism of IRF5 rs2004640 might be associated with SLE in the Han population from Shandong province of China.
