Abstract

Cationic starch was prepared with starch and glycidyl trimethyl ammonium chloride as raw materials and AlCl_3 as catalyst. The optimal reaction conditions are: starch 50 g,epoxypropyl-trime thylammonium chloride 10 g ,AlCl_3 0.74 g,50 %ethanol 60 mL,reaction temperature 50 ℃ and reaction time 17 h.
