Abstract
The infiltration characteristics of film-hole irrigation are studied by using the testing installation developed by the authors in laboratory. The law of bilateral interference infiltration and the infiltration reduction effect relative to free infiltration is analyzed according to the experimental data.A 3-phase model describing the infiltration and the model for calculating the infiltration reduction effect are established and the variations of filtration parameters in different phases are analyzed. The concept of reduction rate of bilateral interference infiltration is suggested and corresponding formula for calculating is proposed. It is found that the relationship between reduction rate and infiltration duration follows an exponential function law.
